Here's a nice unvarnished photo of what it actually looked like if you went outside and saw it:

I'm really sorry I missed that. I saw pictures of it on the news, and thought it was spectacular looking. All of those heavenly bodies glowing in the sky makes our little world seem so small.

It's endlessly fascinating to me. I can't believe we can see things that far away. It lets you think of the scale of the universe and then your head explodes.

Yeah, I didn't get off work till the moon got above the two planets. By then the earthshine wasn't as visible.

I accept no responsibility, what so ever, for the fact that I exist; I do, however, accept full responsibility for what I do while I exist.

I saw it too and found it to be intriguing. Wonder what people would have thought about it if it had happened hundreds of years ago.

There are national flags based off these kinds of conjunctions. Special times and the end of the world are all asumptions such occurances have brought about.

I can't believe I missed this. I love stars. I used to walk around with a book full of Hubble photos because I couldn't get enough of staring at them.

I felt cheated when I found out most of the popular Hubble shots were infrared (non-visible) spectrum. I think i'm just a pessimist like that.

I liked them anyway. I don't let something like my own inherent inability to see in all spectra ruin a thing that will clearly be beyond the capacities of a human to enjoy anyway. Baby stars! Come on!

I am happy I saw a glance of it, at a beautiful angle in a rural area. I am only sad that I didn't have my camera with me to capture the shot.
