It indicates either a subconscious or conscious dismissal of someone else's needs or feelings. "Tough love" is not unkind, even if it's harsh; it takes into consideration what someone needs, which may not be gentleness. Unkindness doesn't do anybody any good.

I've noticed that a lot of people have said arrogance. I think I must not realize the implications of arrogance because it's no where near the top of my list of things I despise. What exactly is bothersome about arrogance? Is it that you feel that an arrogant person has little to back it up with? Or do you feel that they are difficult to work or cooperate with?
^^^ i think a touch of arrogance...done with humor is super cute...but that arrogance that people have when they think their way is the only way and anybody who does it differently is less then...yeah...those people can f**k the hell right off!
