How often, really, is it that people "know" they won't get caught? There's always the possibility, and the fear of that which plays in the back of people's minds.

    purpose?

I think we're here because things just seemed to work out well, and I see no real reason to not just randomly live my life. Humankind came out of a lot of random chances- why am I any better than the rest of humankind?

This is a really good point, whatever.

Your premise could also be used to pave an alternative conclusion. That life is because we've educated ourselves on what it means to fail. That our present amenities are consequent to the sacrifices of those before us.

This could be absolute b/s. It matters only if you believe in it.

Psychological reality is flexible to the individual.

I'm a decent gambler- I'm willing to take my chances.

Efforts are a possibility, or we could possibly look at all of the accidents that have made society as it is as well.

I just don't beleive in having a plan- something unforseen will occur and your plan will be useless anyways, so leaving yourself open and flexible shouldn't be a problem!

My disorganization and inability to make decisions hasn't failed me yet!

I purpose was to contribute to this thread.

    I am complete.

But seriously, biologically we are here to replicate, but in academic pursuits... I think when there is no longer anything left to learn then we are without purpose.

I am serious about this topic and I would most definitely be interested in your insights.

    Me too.

I love varying perspectives on this topic. There is no correct/incorrect answer, as it is more a measurement of what's inside you.
