Yes, a good glass of beer is great, even if you don't even get a buzz from it. I feel similarly about sipping on bourbon and good rums.

I'll switch you some geographic proxemities then- I'm just a couple of hours from bourbon country and you're somewhere near good wine, or at least in the right state!

I don't think they're mutually exclusive reasons though...I wouldn't drink if I didn't enjoy the taste of it. To me, that's the first inkling of a hint of a problem.

I knew I liked alcohol for a reason.

Reason is, and ought only to be the slave of the passions, and can never pretend to any other office

It's a deal! And I live in Sonoma County, so I'm practically on top of it.

Getting drunk and high is not for everyone and the same drugs in the same amounts effect individuals very differently. I used to despise alcohol because it made me out of my head and like I was going a little crazy. Now? I get a pleasant buzz. So the effects depend on your own tolerance and how your body learns to take it.

If you're the kind of person who likes to stay in control (of themselves) and 'have your wits about you', you won't like any drug. Well, you may actually like them when you're on them, but you will be against them when sober.

I like to have my wits about me, but depressants are the only drugs that makes me feel "slow" in this aspect. But I'm not one of those "need to be in control" people.

    I don't drink at all.

I have never tried to smoke a cigarette.

I have never tried any drugs.

    Also I am lousy company.

I am leaving conclusions to others.

Would you like to try anything, psychoactive drug-wise, at least once, before you die?
