    Hmmm...

    Sympathy sympathy for the raped.
    You've got it.
    Sympathy for the threatened too.
    Even for the paranoid.

Less for the ones who don't at least attempt to protect themselves.

    Let's be fair.
It sucks. It's also possible to avoid.

The following arguments will likely comprise of something boiling down to the axiom that women shouldn't have to arrange their lives to protect themselves from hormonally manifest malice.

Here's the ugly half of the axiom.
    Some men don't care/know/agree.

So the final figure is, women shouldn't have to arm themselves with, but could definitely benefit from protective measures.

Fuck martial arts. Ladies, go ahead and knit.
Use the needles to stab the fuck. Why should you have a conscience for that?

I was wearing a completely shapeless grey shopsuit, and I was covered in dirt and black grease. I lost my temper, barked that they were idiots and that they were cheap too. My girlfriend told them to shut up, but I walked away feeling demoralized. I mean, I wasn't dressed slutty or acting slutty or anything. So why did that happen?? I was really angry about it for days. Things like that happened to me constantly and I wound up crying a lot.

You are incorrect, Capsized. It's not always possible to avoid, even when one is living "smartly". However...

This is tidy pertinent summation at it's finest. I commend you.

*lol* Deadly art of knitting! The needles are shocking.

It seems kind of unfair to saddle the good of the population with the bad. Good guys shouldn't have to pay for the sins of the underbelly.

Phew -- good thing I didn't say it was always avoidable, right?

Just that it sometimes is, but submission seems the safer course so they do that.
Well I guess I can't expect all women to be strong, especially in a dangerous and stressful situation, just like I can't count on half the men I know to...

People are fucking weak when they're caught off guard.

I have a hypothesis (which I'm testing at home) that I suspect might enhance quick wit and lucidity on command.

    It contains:
-a healthy regimen of speed solitaire
-finish a game in under a minute.

    Object:
-trains you to look for every out
    -fast

Then you can avoid what you would otherwise figure to be an impossible situation.
I'd put a disclaimer, but with my level of renown, I don't see that I need to.

    LOL... you're a nut.

I expect a treatise written about your "game theory", buster. Or it's the knitting needles for you!

A hundred-pound female who is a multiple-degree black belt in a martial art, with a bad attitude and in good health, can maybe prevent herself from being raped by your average, determined 300-pound sociopath without using a weapon.

    Maybe.

The advantages of height, reach, weight, and strength are just too great to overcome, generally speaking.

Screw aikido and such... I'd carry a gun if I were Pink or Jaye.
