I dunno about longer than men tend to but I personally know a handful of people who were attacked and it really has stuck with me.

I know *plenty* of women who have been sexually assaulted and or molested by men/guys.

Women don't commit rape, men do, women rarely commit violent crimes whereas most violent crimes are committed by men, so yes, I am cautious and fearful of some male strangers.

Yeah I think it's ridiculous when people complain about double standards between the sexes concerning how we think about rape and violence. Those double standards exist for a perfectly rational reason in this case.

Dude, that just sounds so high. Drastic measures should be taken to ward off potential rape, I suggest old school methods of leaving a dead body out on the street.

I do think that your number might include stuff like rape after drinking too much and saying the guy raped her. Both parties are liable, but it is still a horrible prediciment.

probably does, and I'm sure that there are women who report rape out of vengeance..but I think they're outnumbered by the ones that aren't reporting out of shame..

Saddly, most of the time its a man they know, as it is more likely to covet what you see every day.

That is a misleading statistic. The UN's "one in three" initiative is about worldwide abuse against women. So, two things: it's worldwide, and it's all abuse, not just rape. So it's not like if you have three female friends in a developed nation, one of them is likely to have been raped. What it does mean is that at least one third of the world's female population has been abused in some way, be it sexual coercion, beating, rape, or otherwise. It's still awful and it needs to be changed.
