    Question The importance of feelings?

This thread is ment to be a neutral ground for Fs and Ts to talk to each other.

I see that in personal forums of NFs and NTs the threads about the other group are growing slowly and to me this situation looks childlish to some degree. Also I don't see that there is some major discussion about this so
I have desided to open Pandora's box.

I think of myself as a very expressed thinker and I am interested in the position of Fs.
I am trying to understand why feelings are so important and why "pure logic" is so harmful for Fs. Plus all the details that go with that. Also I would dare to say that F is a mistery to me.

Of course Fs can ask questions back.

Because feeling good feels good. Feeling good is important to most people.

... that feeling I want sexual healing Sexual healing, oh baby Makes me feel so fine.
My cold, snide, intellectual life is just a veneer, behind which lies the plywood of loneliness.

This is perhaps the dumbest thing I've read all day.

    Congratulations.

I see that the analogy with Pandora's box was a good one.

    As a seemingly borderline INFJ/INTJ...

Feeling isn't a bad thing. Logic isn't a bad thing. However, as deeply as I can and do feel, I tend to shove it aside for fear of showing it and cover everything up with as much logic as I possibly can. This can come off as too calculating and cold and insensitive [an oxymoron to myself, as is often the case] and is misunderstood sometimes as a lack of compassion or empathy for what a person is feeling.

Just as someone who displays emotion will often times shove aside logic and reasoning because they are just too overwhelmed by their tidal wave of 'feeling' to care about what the reasons for it might be.

So find a middle ground. Agree to disagree or simply coexist knowing there is such thing as a balance between logic and emotion...we just need to strive a bit harder to achieve it.

-by the by, one of my closest friends is a highly emotional person, she introduced me to these forums when she found them a few days ago-- and we coexist well enough. Though perhaps this is because deep down, I can and have been just as emotional.
Don't hate me because you're beautiful.
