Talking The Sims 3 stuff

Heya! Sims 3 was released a few days ago. Have you guys built anything cool yet? I don't play much at all, I just build stuff. I've started building a strange manor-like thing.

Post your pictures and stuff in this thread if you feel like it

Not out here yet. Curious to try it. I've heard they're smarter and interact more. I wonder - will it be a step closer to an interactive screensaver? Advanced virtual pets?

After the nonsense of Spore this will hopefully redeem them

No, nothing that cool. But my PC sucks anyway, it's 4 years old and Sims 3 works like crap.
I only managed to create a character and its home. But it's a mere "decent" sized mansion. If I create something more worthy, I'll post here!

i don't get this game. i don't get it. i don't get why you would want to waste time on it, or why it would interest anyone beyond girls aged 9-14 for character dress ups. it's like there's no point to playing it at all.

OMG it's out! I wish I could play =( But my laptop overheats with The Sims 2, so I don't want to fry it with this 3rd version...

I told my brother Sims 3 is coming out, and he asked me, "WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?!" Clearly, I'm behind the times.

Am investigating it now. It looks like a fun improvement from Sims 2. I loved Sims 2, especially building houses and I'll be very pleased to see what kind of content users come up with.

So Jesus, are there any new options for building? Can I finally make skylights and basements without having to use cheat codes and odd terrain malfunctions?

An idea of how you can customise your sim:

Personality traits (can choose any 5 of these):

Everything is on very specific sliders now. You can make your sim look like just about anyone in the creator. Can change the colour of just about anything and create a "style" that can be applied to certain surfaces in your house.

What I'm particularly excited about is the ability to make an evil, insane mastermind that will take over the world.
