No, you're the one who found it necessary to barge in and tell me my OP was rubbish. I indulged you by making a counter argument though, and you re right, I shouldn't have. If you cannot resist the urge to answer here again, I'll take it to your VM.

    /end of discussion.

Hey, I'm not trying to derail your thread.

I made a substantive contribution to the question posed by the OP, with theoretical backdrop included.

But if we're talking about duals and Socionics and what not, the accuracy of the quadra idea should be up for discussion.

I didn't say your OP was rubbish.

I said one (minor, nonessential, but still fundamentally important) claim within it was.

K, lets try this again: Thread Relaunch:

Do you feel that instant pull, that supposed connection when you meet someone who is your dual and what is it like? How do you know for sure? What is the dual connection about for you?

ESE is supposedly my dual and yet alot of them grate on me. I'm still skeptical of duality in socionics. I could be mistyping myself or the other person. Also even duals have conflicts at times.

    That is normal.

    Well, duality exists.

It just... isn't (always) what the Socionists make it out to be.

In cases of two extremely mature and developed individuals of their respective types, then it could be magical.

If, you know, they're attracted to each other.

And all the other stuff lines up as well.

    Maybe, but probably not.

Your observations aren't out of line with reality.

I'm going to ignore socionics types (because EII aka FiNe sounds like e9 & Delta is too "earthy") and just go with the Jungian types....

Yes, I easily spot ESTJs, although it's less love/hate than despise intensely or develop a gentle fondness for over time.
I was good buddies with an ESTJ girl in childhood, but that bond in no way rivaled the ENFP best friend I had, who was more like a kindred spirit.

Okay, for the sake of the game, I'll tell you my reaction to ESTPs (since IEI sounds more like me, being 4ish). I tend to get along swimmingly with them until it all falls to pieces because they have no morals (!) or dismiss them as meatheads rather apathetically. They almost never make my blood boil like some ESTJs can.
Often a star was waiting for you to notice it. A wave rolled toward you out of the distant past, or as you walked under an open window, a violin yielded itself to your hearing. All this was mission. But could you accomplish it? (Rilke)

I feel like my "love/hate" type is the ESFp more than the ESFj, even though I'm 90% sure I'm an INTj. I relate to that description more, and the functional stack is the same.
