This geek thinks that this little gadget is way cooler.

Btw have you seen some of the latest phones? They have GPS and stuff... not quite the same perhaps but still cool for something that still plays music, has a camera, plays games and sometimes even makes phone calls!

Meh. Since Death Ray Mode got removed from the features, it's just not as appealing anymore.

I think astronomy money would be better spent on a decent telescope. A new 6" Dobsonian-mounted reflector can be had for around $250. And that still leaves some money for binoculars and star charts.
