Mobo Recommendation

Looking to build a system in the next month or so. Will run XP Professional with some decent gaming and software development capability. Happy with either Intel or AMD. Any recommendations for what is reasonably new and good out there?

Intel Core 2 Duo 6600
Asus P5B (onboard soundcard)
2GB RAM 800 mhz
Geforce 8800gts
Samsung 22" flat screen
Antec P180B case

Thanks for the input everybody. I researched the boards (and peripherals) which, in turn, led me to other boards and peripherals. I finally settled on the following from Newegg:

I also went with the 8800GTS, Antec case, and 2GB of 800 MHz RAM as you suggested, Maverick.
