The wisdom of the wizard continues as follows. In a closed loop diagram, the past and future of existence merge. Seekers are never lost, because spirit is always beckoning to them. Seekers are offered clues all the time from the world of spirit. Ordinary people call these clues coincidences. To a wizard there are no coincidences. Every event exists to expose another layer of the soul. Time and the timeless are not opposites. Because it embraces everything, the timeless has no opposite. Good and evil constantly clash in combat; they were born thousands of lifetimes ago. And as long as there is light and shadow, good and evil will live on. We can make a different choice, to renounce duality, to refuse both heaven and hell. Beyond the play of opposites lies a timeless realm of pure light, pure being, and pure love. Heaven and Hell are created by our own selves. We are the ones who keep the cycle going. Our will is free, and we can chain ourselves to the cycle of pleasure and pain forever. But we are equally free to walk away and never suffer again. God isn’t simply in heaven but far beyond, in the realm of pure spirit. Vision is an illusion relative to perspective, ever evolving in form. Remove the mask to dispel the illusion, seeing the light with new eyes. The surface of the pond is a dim reflection of the greater depths within. Still waters run deep, hiding treasures and pearls beneath the never ending voyage. The game has always existed, regenerating itself in never ending cycles. To cheat death is a power that lies beyond duality. The willpower of the wizard is the way of freedom. The seeds of willpower are knowledge and wisdom, the light of understanding and the waters of wisdom. Willpower is rooted in the luminous waters of knowledge and wisdom. Freedom is the way of God, his willpower controlling creation. The first step to freedom is liberation from the self, seeing the light with humble eyes, unclouded by the shadow of desire, unmasking the illusion of the matrix. Willpower focuses the flow of the living Force of Creation. He is named Will for a reason – our free will is what allows us to break out of the cycles of good and evil. This is the promise held out in this lesson. The way of the wizard is compassionate, because it solves the problem of suffering as the light of spirit draws nearer. Wizards never condemn desire. It was by following their desires that they became wizards. Every desire is created by some past desire. The chain of desire never ends. It is life itself. Desires are seeds waiting for their season to sprout. From a single seed of desire, whole forests grow. Look upon desire as the willingness to receive what god wants to give. This world is a gift; there was no compulsion for the Creator to make it. God’s ability to grant unto you is limited only by your ability to receive. If you could see a way to fulfill all your desires – which is what God has in mind for you all along – you would see that without desire you couldn’t grow. Imagine yourself as a child who never wanted to go beyond playing with toys; without new desires constantly arising inside you, you would be trapped in perpetual immaturity. The great problem you will face will not be desire but attachment, holding on when the flow of life wants you to let go. No desire is trivial, because every desire has a spiritual meaning. Each is a small step leading to the day when you desire the highest fulfillment, which is to know your own divine nature. The Holy Grail is eternal life, the alchemy of transformation. To be unifies with the Cosmos, to be intimate with life in all its forms, to finally come to ones with your own being – this is your destiny, the end of your quest.
