Surviving and Thriving

Would it be possible to engineer some kind of "God"?

We have already engineered ten thousand Gods in our imagination, and by and large, our Gods are jealous Gods.

Our Gods want to be worshipped alone and don't want to share the worship with any othe God.

Our Gods are like a narcissistic child who wants to be worshiped by their parents and wants their parents to worship them alone.

Yes, our Gods reflect us as we were as narcissistic children, who needed all their parents' attention to survive.

But, provided we are no longer emotionally and financially dependent on our parents, we can survive and thrive without them, and we can survive and thrive without the Gods.

Then, they're having a tea party together on the back lawn, as we speak.

Our laws against nepotism are proof positive that nature has seen to it that we worship our own children.

And as you so cogently point out, nature has also seen to it that we don't worship other people's children.

Hmmm...This thread seems to have taken a decidedly philosophical turn.

Not complaing, just observing.
