After reading 'Portrait of an Artist...' (only halfway through, as I got sidetracked by several other books for a bit!), which was supposedly semi-autobiographical, I'm guessing INFP. But I don't think INFJ is out of the question. I don't see NT at all, based on his manner of writing, and WHAT he's writing about (themes) in it....
"...On and on and on and on he strode, far out over the sands, singing wildly to the sea, crying to greet the advent of the life that had cried to him." - James Joyce

I'd say INFJ because of his focus on epiphanies and his innovative stream-of-consciousness writing style.

    Probably a sadistic INFJ.

Thinking INFP. I can't really explain why. His writing oozes Pness I think.
