    Default Novels and quirky detectives

I am searching for crime and mystery novels, that have as a protagonist a quirky, genius detective similar with Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot and Nero Wolfe. Do you have any suggestions?

Those are the gods of the genre, IMO. I can't think of any like them, but I'll mull it over and tell you if I come up with anything.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”
