Yep. The parties were more to bask in his wealth, and of course lure Daisy over the channel. Not because he really enjoyed the company of the guests. I really like the INFJ 3w4 idea. Although the archetype "The Counselor" hardly seems to fit.

So/sp is the least likely type to single out others. They are usually the guys that are working the room talking to everyone.

Gatsby is an introvert. Sure, he held all those big parties, but he didn't really like them and only did it to try to draw Daisy's attention. The people there often didn't even recognize him or really have any idea who he was. I believe he is an N, but I think it's kind of weak. His hopeless romantic, idealistic sentimentality makes me think F though, especially NF. And his continuing obsession and persistence makes me think J. So I'm ultimately going INFJ.
