    He 's as 3w4 as they come. ENTX. I don't think a ENFX would take such a backass way of showing/proving their love. It seems like the tertiary function is kind of the romantic function in people so maybe that's a case for ENTP.

    Well I'll be honest and say Jay Gatsby is my alter-ego. That is exacty what I woukd do with my life if I could stomach the underbelly enough to make it happen. But my w6 would prevent me from building a facade on a life of criminal activity, no matter how benign. The other aspects, idealisation of perfect love, building a life upon the ideal, working everyday to bring the dream to reality, being constant to that ideal and ultimately having his ideal shattered by the frailty of the object of his affection. That is all the stuff of my internal workings. Being offed by the randomness of circumstance, seems a fitting and ultimately less painful end for him than having to square with the fact the love of his life will not betray her husband for him. She could never give him the one thing he idealised her for, the constancy of her affection. What a tragedy that was and he would never be able to forgive her for it.

    He was a charming and popular facade but ultimately a loner who cared not for sosciety beyond what it could give him in terms of his dream. The tenacity to purpose and ideal here coupled with the seperation from society is very 5-ish. He didn't party nor enjoy the gatherings he used to create an image. He cared not for his own popularity beyond the facade and was bothered by the intrusions on his time when they weren't of his own accord.

    I've dreamt in my life dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas;
    they've gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the colour of my mind.

    Maybe I should re-read it. It's been many, many years. I think I have a tendency to conflate e3w4 with EXTX.

    FWIW, I think he has a fairly ExTx facade.

    He really could have been a 3w2 or a 3w4, I'm not really sure. However, I thought 3w2 because of his charm. The 2 wing brings a lot more charm to the core 3. Also, I've tended to notice that Fe users that are 3's tend to be wing 2 and Fi users that are 3's tend to be wing 4. Just an observation though, I could be wrong.

    Also, I thought that he kept to himself at parties and didn't interact with a lot of people because he was an Sx dom and sx dom's tend to connect the best one-on-one. Although I guess I could always have been an introvert. If he was an introvert, then he was probably an INFJ. They often times can look really extroverted on the outside for some reason.

    Are you really going to try to argue with me that this guy is not an sx dom? If so I will shut you down in this argument so fast it will make your head spin.
