In line with my earlier musings, I'm going to continue analyzing Jade here, because quite frankly, I find her a highly interesting and complex character, who's often underappreciated amongst the fandom.
Jade has always been a somewhat inaccessible character, she doesn't nearly have the storyline focus the other character have and she only entered the game during Act 5 Act 2.
Given that generally, their entry is when a character's arc really starts moving, her character arc took a long time to reach the point where she would really be confronted with her flaws and insecurities, giving us the appearance of her as a character who isn't as interesting as the others.
Jade is a very complex character.
On one hand, she is strong-willed and brave; on the other hand she is emotionally vulnerable.
On one hand, she can be gentle and kind to people she cares for, on the other hand she can be hostile and cold to those she does not.
On one hand, she is self-reliant and capable; on the other hand she needs the support from her friends to keep herself together.
On one hand, she is smart and great at understanding things and people; on the other hand, she is bad at understanding herself.
As with most characters, Jade generally gets generalized into just a few character traits, either she's weak and helpless girl who needs someone to come save her, or she's the always happy and cheerful girl, who has absolutely no problems whatsoever.
Jade is far more than that, however. She is strong and capable, smart and wise, gentle and reassuring.
But she is also incredibly messed up. She's not okay; she has her own insecurities, her own fears, her own vulnerabilities.
It's all a part of her character, she is complex and multilayered and I will attempt to explain some of her character here.
