"Shortly after the beginning of the [Clone] war, [passive and detached Behind-the-Scene] Yoda took the title of Master of the Order from Mace Windu. Early in the conflict, [passive and detached Behind-the-Scene] Yoda saw front line action at the Battle of Axion, leading clone troopers into battle atop his kybuck steed. On that contested world, he saved the life of Commander Brolis, and in the process defeated a Hailfire droid in single combat. Around the time of the Battle of Muunilinst, [passive and detached Behind-the-Scene] Yoda came to the rescue of Jedi, Luminara Unduli and Barriss Offee, with the help of Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo after the Crystal Caves on Ilum were destroyed by chameleon droids. [Passive and detached Behind-the-Scene] Yoda sensed Unduli and Offee's peril through the Force, and during his rescue mission destroyed dozens of chameleon droids, before rescuing the pair. On Ilum, [passive and detached Behind-the-Scene] Yoda learned that Dooku's treachery ran deeper than he had believed, for the former Jedi Master had ordered the attack on the crystal temple."

Yes, but

And if you read the expanded universe, you see that Yoda is initially reluctant about taking the lead of the clones and think that the jedis should not interfere in the clone war.

That still be true. Read the comic.

Elsewhere, despite his preference for staying passive, Yoda never tried any sort of diplomacy or negoatiation with the separatists, and never felt the need to do diplomacy or being frustrated about not doing diplomacy. Padmé and Dooku, at the opposite, are true INFJs and they are naturally diplomatic and have a lot of nergy available for this. Dooku is a true INFJ and is the smooth diplomat par excellence. Yoda is harsh, abrasive and do what seem rational to do. Dooku is truly idealistic, evne if his ideal is evil, Yoda don't don value judgement and accept things as they are, but ojectively analyse them.

Yoda doesn't have a PREFERENCE for passivity, he has a philosophy, a wisdom, that requires waiting when waiting is necessary, and action when action is necessary.

On the other hand, if Yoda had not taken charge of the army - if he HAD waited - things might have gone very differently for Palpatine.

Me and speed are the only people considering the possibility for Yoda being INTP, and even though it is equally if not more possible that Yoda is INFJ, it is painfully obvious that Yoda acts far differently than NFs Padme, Luke, Leia, Anakin, Qui-gon, and Dooku, and he does seem to be quite the loner living alone in oneness with the natural world, which I would say gives points for Yoda being INTP.

I don't see anybody considering possibilities here, only drawing conclusions.

In general, I see this as the typical confusion of one type with another. The INFJ has a healthy or unhealthy relationship with its tertiary which can, at a superficial glance, draw forth the INTP conclusion.

Possibly, but that has nothing to do with typology.

If Ti was his tertiary function, Yoda would prefer to take decision based on Fe rather than on Ti. It's not the case.

Anyway, Yoda has been typed as an INTP in another site, but it was sevral years ago and the link is dead now.

Yes. But he chose action perhaps because he was blinded by their version of Kevin's Dirt.

Possibly, but that has nothing to do with typology.

It goes back to your point that Yoda "never tried any sort of diplomacy or negoatiation," which you take to be an NF trait. I'm saying that his NF wisdom was blinded into advising the wrong action, which was to take action.

That's what we all do. It's called "debate."

Yoda has far more often been typed as INFJ, if you want to decide that way. But you don't, because INFJ is not your own call.

If Ti is Yoda's tertiary, then Fe is a repressed auxiliary function.

Don't try to justify the inconsisitencies of your analysis with "perhaps" and other speculations. It doesn't work.

Ah, so you are not just "considering possibilities" like you said just before? Tssk.

Yoda has far more often been typed as INFJ.

That simply means that Yoda is often mistyped. That's all.

If Ti is Yoda's tertiary, then Fe is a repressed auxiliary function.

No. The auxillary function is NEVER repressed. Basic notion of MBTI.

It's not an inconsistency, it depends on the plot of the movie. In case you hadn't noticed, every move of the Jedi council consisted of one blunder after another, one bad decision after another. And Yoda was on that council. Therefore, he was a victim just as they all were. Sometimes Yoda saved them from making even worse decisions, but that's only because he is Yoda. And he was still blinded by that universe's version of Kevin's Dirt, this much IS known.

Same than above.

If the clone army had fallen to defeat, and General Grievous had won, what would have happened to Palpatine's schemes? Think about it.

What matters in typlology is not if the decison is good or not, but how the decision is made.

We don't need to think about it to type Yoda. You still wrong.

We are talking about MBTI there. What is the MBTI type of Yoda. If you doesn't know what is his MBTI type, then the discussion is over.

You're the one who brought up the notion that Yoda was not a negotiator. Heck, you've said various things to contradict that. If thinking is not your strong suit, then why do it?

That is a very closed-minded statement. Yoda is an INFJ. If he's not an INFJ, then he is one weird INTP.
