Default John Jakes' *Kent Family Chronicles*

(The Kent Family Chronicles), if anyone else has read the series, I would enjoy typing the characters and seeing what other people's take on the types are.

I've only read the first three... I thought they were excellent. But it was more than 14 years ago!

I'd need to re-read (and finish all 8!) to type.

    I... suppose. Yeah!

I read them when I was 11-13 and I read them so many times I could probably recite them word for word.

The series sort of lags after "The Furies", but then the last novel "The Americans" is great, the main character Will, very sympathetic, or at least he was to me.

Never read the series, but I certainly know of it.

The more hilarious thing: Jakes also wrote a series of "Conan"-like novels episodic in nature about a character named Brak the Barbarian. (No kidding!)

“Pleasure to me is wonder—the unexplored, the unexpected, the thing that is hidden and the changeless thing that lurks behind superficial mutability. To trace the remote in the immediate; the eternal in the ephemeral; the past in the present; the infinite in the finite; these are to me the springs of delight and beauty.” ~ H.P. Lovecraft

I never enjoyed any of his other work for some reason. I could never get into North and South.
