I know I'm missing a ton of minor characters, but I may add more later. Agree? Disagree?
Yessssss! I'm currently reading the manga - never saw either of the anime series - but most of those typings (at least on the characters that have shown up so far) seems very accurate. Winry as an ESFJ makes a lot of sense in hindsight.

I was a bit torn on Alphonse, though; he seems peaceful like a 9, but the way doubt grew in his heart after the meeting with Barry the Chopper seemed kind of Sixish...

So far, though, Envy and Lust seems quite Eightish... That is, the unhealthy kind, the kind that loves the feeling of power that comes with wanton destruction.

Then again, I haven't even reached volume ten, so feel free to bop me in the head for my n00bness.

Hmm, that's a good guess for Alphonse, but isn't 6 the point of disentegration for 9s anyway? By the end of the series, he's a clear 9w1. The definition of a peacemaker and mediator who desires universal harmony. There's also the minor wing issue that he is nothing whatsoever like a 5 or 7, whereas the 1 wing fits perfectly.

You're right about Manga/Brotherhood Lust, she's one of the few characters with a markedly different persona between the series. I typed the Lust from the 2003 anime, who gets a LOT more characterization and screentime and is a clear 4w5. Manga/Brotherhood Lust doesn't really get enough characterization for a definite type, but yeah, I'd guess 8w9 sx/sp ISTP for her. It's also interesting to note that lust is the vice for 8s, while gluttony is the vice for 7s, indolence (sloth) is the vice for 9s, and envy is the vice for 4s. It would be cool if they all line up, but there is no way Greed is a 5. Speaking of Envy, he may in fact be an 8w7 or 7w8 now that I think about his surface actions. However, near the end of the series he's revealed to have some very 4-like underlying motivations that are probably spoilers so I won't say more. I have a difficult time typing Envy as he is by far my favorite character in both series, so I may be slightly biased trying to fit him into certain types (I love 4s...)

Those are very good points - you're an ace at this stuff, didja know that?

I guess 9w1 for Alphonse does fit - sometimes I do forget he's actually a little kid. To be honest, I'm kinda struggling between 6 and 9 myself, so there's that... I forget that Nines can be pretty histrionic at times, especially when they're manga characters. Though I wouldn't say he's nothing like a Five, since he's studied alchemy since he was a wee tot...

Since I'm still on volume five, I'll keep my trap shut about the Sins.

Any thoughts on Izumi Curtis, the boys' teacher?

Izumi is either 1 (either wing) or 8w9, and sx/sp. As for MBTI, I'm not sure. She's one of those rare characters who seems simultaneously like two opposite or near-opposite types, in this case iSTP and iNFJ. Her treatment of Ed and Al is all about rigorous training, discipline, and "tough love" which would seem to point to J. She's definitely a chart-the-course type (IxTJ, ISTP, or INFJ).

A few other characters I left out:
    Miles: either 1w9, 5w6, or 6w5, sp/so 1-5-6 ISTJ
    Buccaneer: 8w7 sx/sp 8-7-6 ESTP
    Fuery: 9w1 9-2-6 so/sp ISFJ?
    Rose: 2w1 2-6-1 sx/so ISFJ?
Kimblee: Insane, but maybe 8w7 or 5w6, sx/so, ENTP?

After thinking back, I'm pretty sure Nina from Code Geass was a 6w5. Her unhealthy obsession with Euphemia was a manifestation of the fearful clinginess of an unhealthy 6 looking for a point of security, to the point of blind loyalty, not anything related to a 2. You can even see the disentegration to 3 as she becomes extremely self-conscious/critical and needing reassurance of her sense of skill and accomplishment regarding FLAYA.

Yeah, 1 or 8 for Izumi was my best guess... Thanks!

Speaking of FMA, how about 9w1 for Sheska, the klutzy librarian? Or 7w8 for Panynia, the street urchin?

I promised I'd try my hand at a manga series when I reached the tenth volume; I've done so, so I'll try to type some of the Vol. 1-10 Bleach characters.

    Ichigo Kurosaki - 6w7 Sx/Sp (ISFP)
    Rukia Kuchiki - 1w2 [Sp/Sx?] (xSTJ)
    Orihime Inoue - 7w6 So/Sx (ENFP)
Yasutora "Chad" Sado - 9w1 Sp/So [could also be 9w8 or 2w1] (ISFx)
Uryû (or Uryuu) Ishida - 1w9 Sp/Sx (IxTJ)
    Kisuke Urahara - 7w8 [Sp/So?] (ENTP)
    Kon - 7w6 [Sx/Sp?] (ESFP)
    Karin Kurosaki - 8w9 Sp/Sx (ISTP)
    Yuzu Kurosaki - 9w1 Sp/?? (ISFJ)
Jinta Hanakari - 8w7 [no idea on his instinct] (ESTP)
    Ururu Tsumugiya - 9w1 Sp/So (ISFJ)
    Tessai Tsukabishi - [2w1?] Sp/So (ISFJ)
    Tatsuki Arisawa - 6w7 Sx/[Sp?] (xSTP)
    Byakuya Kuchiki - 1w9 Sp/So (ISTJ)
    Renji Abarai - 6w7 or 8w7 [So/Sp?] (ESxP)
    Don Kanoji - 3w2 So/Sx (ESFJ)
    Kuukaku Shiba - 7w8 Sp/[So?] (ESTP)
    Ganji Shiba - 6w7 [So/Sx?] (ESFP)
    Jidanbou - 9w8 Sp/So (ISFP)

    Tentative typing: ISFJ 6w5 or 9w1 (Sp/S[?]).

changed my mind about a few of these
    - Lloyd is more Sp/So than Sp/Sx
    - Milley Ashford is Sx/So and maybe 3w4. she is like an anime version of Madonna
    - Lelouch is 8w9. he has a strong sense of justice like a 1, but that's really about it. he never plays by the rules, is at ease commanding people and is determined to carve out his own path. I also think he's Sp/Sx as opposed to Sx/So.
    - Kallen is ESFP
    - Violeta is an I?FP in disguise, her real personality is not ETJ at all
    - Clovis is ENFP
    - Schneizel is Sp/So
    - Rivalz is 6w7 So/Sp
    - Suzaku is 1w2 So/Sx
    - Charles is 8w7
    - Ohgi is 6w7 So/Sx
    - Nunnally is So/Sx
    - Detard is Sp/So
    - Cornelia is So/Sx and 8w7

Are we talking about Villetta Nu? The one Ohgi falls for.
