I've seen two good suggestions for Rafiki's type: ENTP and INFJ. On the other hand, Rafiki is a mystic, he "just knows" things and he sees into the future, which would suggest strong Ni-- INFJ, because he's just not INTJ-ish. On the other hand, he seems... hm, easily excitable, which I associate with strong Ne. Because he's a genius and a visionaire, in that case he'd be an ENTP.
Those are the two types that I go back and forth with for Rafiki too. I think he is maybe an ENTP more though, because he is more energetic and expressive than an INFJ would be. Although that could just be due to his monkey-ness.

I'll give anyone a cookie if they help me type the characters from Tarzan; bagels and muffins are also available.

    exactly.
    which is unfortunate,
a thinking hero would probably be more effective.

    No.
Ariel and Pochantas seem right, but most princesses seem to be S..

cinderella- infj ISFJ? Household chores, classic damsel in distress..i dunno
mulan- entp ENFP, 'my duty is to my heart', not to mention total disregard for Fe despite feeling bad for disappointing people around her
snow white- infp ISFJ, the way she mothers those dwarves...
pochantas- enfj ENFP. She craves adventure, dreams of freedom, of mediating between the two sides, gets into a relationship with Smith *becoz* she's intrigued and curious by them, she's seperate if anything from her own clan, despite defending them, and scouts ahead. Hardly ENFJ. Again, compare to Esmeralda= defender of her people, Pocahontas = glue between the two sides
