I love this book, so I tried to type the characters...

Heathcliff: INTJ
Catherine Earnshaw: ENFP
Edgar Linton: ISFJ
Catherine Linton: ENFJ
Hareton: ISFP
Joseph: ISTJ
Nelly Dean: ISFJ
Hindley: ESTP
Isabella: __FP
Linton: INFP

Anyone else have guesses?

I agree Heathcliff is an INTJ who was abused as a child so flies into spike-of-the-inferior Se rages. Cathy ain't no T, not one little bit - she's an ENFP. I think she's too wild and tinged with Fi (ohmeandHeathcliffandourspecialsecretivenaughtyconnection) to be an ENFJ like some people think, either.

Edgar Linton is most likely an ISFJ. Catherine Linton I'd wager more possibly being an ENFJ or INFJ. Hareton ISxP.

Joseph is a raging fucking ISTJ, a comically evil one at that.

Nelly - xSFJ for sure

Isabella is probably ISFP, she seems FP to me, but a more passive version - which is why Cathy was able to dominate her, seems more likely with a younger ISFP female and an older ENFP female.

I'd go for Linton being a terribly self-absorbed whiny unhealthy INFP.

I agree. I was doubtful between putting a F or T for Cathy (because of this I put a little "t") because she betrayed her feelings for Heathcliff because of "status" (but in the 18th/19th centuries, I think it was a bit common by the fact that the objective of the life of a woman was to get married). But, remembering the story... she suffered immensely because of this decision, what helped to cause her death. It's very Fi. She's REALLY very sentimental! And yes, no ENFJ for her.

It makes lots of sense. I can see Catherine Linton as an ENFJ too. Hareton I can see as an ISFP, he's a F type, but a hurted one, because of his environment that made him rude. But he's always showing a very cute caring nature through the book...

I find it hard to see him as a feeler... because of it, ESTP...
