I watched an interview with Laura Bush today on Oprah, and Jenna and Barbara also appeared with her.

I have a pretty strong opinion that Laura is ISTJ, Jenna is ESFx, and that Barbara...might be an NF?

As for W, I know people think he's either ESTJ or ESTP, and I lean more toward ESTP.

Her incredible sense of order and restraint is apparent in her demeanor. In her interview she also spoke about how everything in her kitchen is completely organized and her personal home library is shelved by the Dewey decimal system; she clearly has a strong need for external control. Her own daughters said in the Oprah interview that they didn't know many, many things about their mother until they read her book, and that she's an extremely private person...would an NF really be that distanced from her own daughters that they'd find stuff out from her from a book? My ISTJ grandfather was extremely private like that...It's hard to say, because she's clearly an introvert, and INFP and ISTJ do actually share the same functions, the Si and Fi would be evident but I would argue that she has an awful lot of obvious Te for an INFP, though.

I think she's too soft, maybe not as compromising as she puts on, showboating, dragging herself over a pile of bones like a stripper, eyes bulging, grinning ear to ear.

she's involved in politics, they all often have to discuss their "values".

yet she was first lady to a president who was gung-ho about conflict.

(ok, maybe the last one wasn't on key exactly but you know what I mean)

Interview with Larry King

She's hesitant to express that she disagrees with her husband's policies whereas I think an INFP, if we felt values were being violated, would find it difficult to stand behind our partner in a situation like that. We'd find it hard to respect him as well, esp if he single-handedly had the power to allow certain couples to be recognized as married under the law and wasn't allowing it because, well, he's ignorant

When anything but estp comes up for W, I like to point firmly at how intensely intimidated he is in the matt laurer (an isfj) interview on the tube.

That's precisely why I would have said ISFJ for Laura.
