Smile Russia or America for Finland?

Finland is a border country of Russia.
There are many of those.

Finland is the only border country of Russia that is not a part of the Nato in Europe.

Russia or America for Finland?

It is best to not pick either the US or Russia until it knows who is going to win, one has to considers the last time Finland was forced to pick between two countries it decided to let Nazi's take up position in Joulupukki's back garden. Therefore, it spend the next fifty years being dominated as a punishment. Do a Norway and don't pick anyone.

Finland will always have the Russians as neighbours. And great power politics make it unwise for Finland to join NATO.

During WW II Finland persuaded the Germans to withdraw without fighting. This was a real triumph of diplomacy. As Finland could have been laid waste.

So perhaps we can trust the Fins to finesse both Russia and NATO.
