Having watched both conventions and listened to the speeches for both parties, I've come to a conclusion.
I want 8 more years of Bill Clinton.

*sigh* Okay, so, mostly I'm just frustrated by the fact that I don't want either of our candidates.
But, to be fair, Bill Clinton was too busy fucking his interns to fuck the country.

I wouldn't call myself a Clinton kind of guy. To each his own. I don't think presidents have a thousandth the influence on the economy people give them credit for. Cycles are gonna cycle despite them.

Fuck Greenspan and fuck Bernanke. They think they can control the business cycle by targeting interest rates. The problem is, Volker already proved that strategy to be a failure back in the 70s. The only real tool the fed has to control the economy is its power to print money. It was Volker's tight money policy that brought us out of stagflation, not setting interest rates which is akin to setting price controls. |

President Clinton is one of the most overrated of all time. Ever since the bombing of the factory in Sudan (and, the same month, lying to the grand jury), I've pretty much despised him.

I couldn't stand Clinton. He only stood for two things.
1) Himself 2) Hooraaaay Abortion! He did make some great speeches, though. Full of hope and good will and promises of greatness. If I just let myself out of reality for several minutes and slipped into the dreamworld of his speeches, I could kinda get with him. That's the closest I ever got to taking drugs.
