Do not the car lights glare even more in the pitch darkness?
In this country they always drive with the long lights on. Even in the daytime. I think it is because in their home turf in North Karelia or wherever, they did not have road lights.

Welcome to Finland and Karelia and Russia and the North Pole.
    Honest, simple, good folks.
Here you can drive in the pitch dark.

All you need is luck, full moon and a flashlight.

I used to drive without my headlights on snowy winter nights with a full moon- you could see more without the lights than with them, every subtle change in the road or the landscape around it showed in the shadows from the moon.

In the city you see less, and everything is well lit.

How true. The headlights are only an obstacle, full moon and snow is the best light combination in the night.
Urbanization is a tragedy. Nature has become an enemy, although it is an asset.
Without snow, the Arctic culture would not have existed.
Everything goes around. Now they take the leaves and the snow away, year after year.
Eventually the soil dries up and the trees die. They ask: What is wrong?

We've forgotten that nature took care of us and itself wonderfully for centuries...

... the leaf blower and snowblower are two sides of the same coin.

    Yes.
The leaves contain nutrition. It is absorbed by the soil.
    Snow is water.

The abstract is not in the concrete.
The concrete however is in the abstract.
    What comes around goes around.

Every post served a purpose. Thank you, all.

    Understanding is not a side.
    It is a complement.
Night and whatever remind me of Goethe and Spengler.

There is no disagreement in perception.
    Perception is not a viewpoint.
    Relevance is not a choice.
