    are they perhaps solar powered?

I know that the lights outside my grandparents house are, which means that I trip over thier dog on winter evenings

    Crime,
    Accidents
    The concept of "light pollution."

Funny though, out here on the prairie when there were no lights there was less crime, less accidents, and people thought of light as a "good thing."

Maybe it has something to do with more people?

Edit: Another thing. Light meant work. No light meant time for rest. A need to create increased working hours?

I hate light pollution- I live in the city and see maybe 5 stars at night, when I'm lucky. When I visit my parents farm I can see lots of stars in the sky!

and don't you know Anja? It's much harder to rob someone if you can't see them to stab!

Light has no cost if you know when to look for it.

-How beautiful, this pale Endymion hour.
    -What are you talking about?
-Endymion, my dear. A beautiful youth possessed by the moon.
-Well, forget about him and get to bed.
    -Yes, my dear.

Shalom, what the fuck are we talking about?

Why aren't the streetlamps coordinated with the weather? Maybe they're on a timer.

I was referring to the topic, not to your post, though I didn't understand your post either.
