    Default Political Correctness

    Hello!

I'm interested in what types would be more into political correctness.
As an INTJ, I am definitely not politically correct.
For example, if I said something sarcastic or silly about politics or politician, what types would be offended instead of understanding that I was trying to be humorous? Also, what if I just said something insensitive in general, but it wasn't about them personally?
I'm thinking maybe F's would be more offended by false statements or insensitivity. I'm also thinking SJ's might be offended if the comment violates their belief system.

    Thanks for your responses =)

You and I have something in common.

I think political correctness is a needless concept that is only practiced when complainers run out of things to complain about.

The popularity and widespread use of political correctness makes me want to projectile vomit on myself and others.

Political correctness is primary whenever you care more about social harmony and hurt feelings rather than Truth.

I think it's fair to say that INTJs and INFJs are probably the least prone to political correctness. INTPs can be included as well.

As an INFJ, I've practically heard all sorts of controversial views across the spectrum. Name it and I've probably heard it. It doesn't bother me, in fact I find it nice to have an open discussion where such views can be openly and maturally discussed.

I hate it when people shut down debate by declaring such and such argument or statement is "offensive", "hateful", "racist" the usual BS. Rather one should actually address the argument presented. If it's BS, then show it to be BS and move on. If it's true, then the fact it's "offensive" is really irrelevant. Go cry me a river.

When describing an object, I strive for the word that best conveys the objective reality of it. Political correctness mostly gets in the way of this goal.

When explaining a sentiment, I strive for the word that best conveys my feelings and subjective opinion of it. Political correctness mostly gets in the of this goal as well.

I mostly dislike political correctness, and while I question whether or not types are consistent or simple enough to be attributed degrees of political correctness, I would say that if they are, INTPs are very unlikely to be politcally correct.

We all could spend hours crying into our beers about it. To me, it depends on how it is defined. I have noticed a tendency to label as political correctness that which throws the actions of the labeler in a critical light.

SJ would also seem the most likely to criticize something as politically correct if the offending PC-subject flies in the face of tradition.
