    Sigh.

I was so afraid something like that would happen.

    I just hope Obama doesn't get a filibuster-proof Senate.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

It looks like Obama will probably win, but let us not forget that this has been the craziest political season that has possibly ever occurred. A quick recap of some of the highlights:

The candidates have been campaigning for nearly two years now.

Both of the current candidates are something of longshot/underdog candidates in a way. Obama because Hillary was supposed to have it in the bag. McCain because his campaign was falling apart at one point and had to find a new campaign manager.

Oh yeah remember how much conservatives used to hate John McCain? This Republican primary was the longest and fiercest primary season in recent history.

The Republican primary was nothing compared to the crazy crap going down in the Democratic primary.

    Reverend Wright

    Sarah Palin

A huge economic crisis roughly one month before the election.

John McCain suspending his campaign to "solve" the economic crisis.

Now I know there is supposed to be only two weeks left, but after the nutty dog and pony show that has been the past two years, I'd say anything could go down at this point.

Off topic a wee bit but.. I wonder. If the people hopeful for all the change being advertised end up with Obama winning.. Will there be outrage and disappointment if the things promised are not delivered, or at least on a good solid track for delivery?
