Perhaps the kind of "intuition" that makes one assume that since the Mediterranean is warm it must be southerly to the northern United States. You know, the wrong kind.
    I don't wanna!

Didn't that used to be called "power hungry"?
I think most people who say that mean, "believing the power of the government to do good".

It's wrong to equate Intuition with voting for Obama. It is also wrong to equate Intuition with supportying socialism. I have spoken to many, very Intuitive libertarians. And do you think none of the socialists in history have ever been Sensers?

Oh, and I'll say again; no knowledgable and self-respecting socialist would ever call Obama a socialist.

I tend to side with the Founders in thinking that the purpose of government is to secure the borders, establish a currency, regulate international trade, and operate a criminal justice system. Asking anything more of government is asking government to perform functions for which it is ill-equipped and ill-suited.

As for "believing the power of the government to do good," I am skeptical that such a power even exists, much less being permitted to function.

EDIT: And I'm not so certain about the currency.

So... even asking it do develop basic infrastructure, like roads or water works, is too much?

Human beings put government upon themselves because it gave them things they didn't have without one. Material things and conceptual things.

That would be an interpretation consistent with my earlier statement, yes.

Government is necessary and appropriate...to a select few purposes.

If government is the only problem-solving tool that you have, pretty soon every problem looks like a job for government. We should learn to rely on other tools.

That is exactly what is wrong with the USA.

Everybody see government as evil that has to exist and they try to limit it.
Insted of trying to create something that works good and does what has to be done.

Man, it took 10 pages for hitler to pop up? I think that may be a record...
