Yup... "The security officer that's looking at it is located away from the screening lane, so there's no comparison of the person walking through and the image. The images are not saved, you literally walk through, the screener hits a button to say clear and the image goes."

Apparently itíll be one person, alone in a room, watching scans of nekky people...

I don't like it one bit.

There's the bottom line (no pun intended).

Aren't we still human? Don't we still have dignity?

I'm sure anything slightly interesting about the job will be annihilated after the first 1000 people amble through.

I think the interest has anything to do with it, it is about human privacy rights.

You're thinking like they're assigning 20 year old pervert young bucks to stare at a bunch of voluptuous women walking through. It's not some horny teenage punk looking at you.

I'd feel MUCH better having someone look at a shitty x-ray of me from a distance rather than someone's hands on my body for a pat down, which I've had to endure at an airport before. In terms of privacy rights.. I'd much rather someone unable to distinguish my x-ray from my body, than someone's hands actually on my body.

Exactly. It's not photogenic x-rays.. they're simply generic outlines of genitals and breasts. You see better shots in biology books.

Firstly I wouldn't trust the professionalism of a lot of people in situations like that.

If the article is carefully read, this is just the begining, they say they have more invasive technologies. They are getting us accustomed to letting go of privacy rights in the name of "safety." A same gender person doing a pat down is not the same as allowing someone to take an x-ray. X-ray is more invasive.

So someone sees my ding ding in order to prevent weapons from being smuggled onto a plane. I personally don't have a problem with this, especially if the resolution is shitty. You've seen one naked person in greyscale you've seen them all.

(Though I do appreciate the concerns of more private folks.)
