Exclamation U.S.E (United states of Europe)

For a long time I am thinking about opening this thread and I have big plans for the thread. By this I mean a lot of subtopics and it is possible that some things in this thread will come as a surprise to some people on this forum.
I mean there are a lot of non Europeans on the forum.

    Here are some basic/fast facts.
Probably all people know that Europe is uniting in one block to gain more power in the world. But as years are going by it is more and more obvious that the real goal is to create one giant super state. Politicians are hiding it because that would be harmful for the project on the long run.

Right now the process is in the phase that the Union is creating its own constitution which at the end will be the end of countries in the union from legal perspective.
Also the European parliament is formed to serve as democratic institution of the union.
Plus many other institutions (like courts)

Union has created its own currency (Euro). That is very important because countries that except Euro become strongly linked in economic aspect, what makes entire thing very resistant to falling apart.
    (It is one way ticket)
Creation of joined armed forces is also under way.

History has shown that the common currency is quite successful.
When Euro was created it was something like 1$= 1.2€ (if I remember correctly) now it is 1€ = 1.4-1.5$.

Population of EU is about 480 million in 27 member states.
Plus large number of countries are at some level of joining the union. Or their standard is too high to join. So they are just collaborating with the union.
So here is the list of all European countries.
This just for people to understnd how much countries are in the game.
They are small but .... just see for yourself.
Countries that are underlined are in the union.

    Albania

    Andorra

    Austria

    Belarus

    Belgium

    Bosnia & Herzegovina

    Bulgaria

    Croatia

    Cyprus

    Czech Republic

    Denmark

    Estonia

    Finland

    France

    Germany

    Greece

    Holland

    Hungary

Kosovo (only god know what this actually is)

    Iceland

    Ireland

    Italy

    Latvia

    Liechtenstein

    Lithuania

    Luxembourg

    Macedonia

    Malta

    Monaco

    Montenegro

    Norway

    Poland

    Portugal

    Romania

    Russia

    Serbia

    San Marino

    Slovakia

    Slovenia

    Spain

    Sweden

    Switzerland

    Turkey

    UK

    Ukraine

    Vatican?(very special case)

Plus Georgia and Armenia (possible members)

So if the union manages to form itself toward some big and long term plans it will be one huge super state with population of 800 million.(educated) people.
Just in the last 4 years population of the union has increased for about 150 million.
And it will be the largest state in the world by size territory. (By far)
About 2.5 times the USA (this is just to get the picture).

    So the questions are.

Will EU be able to form the super state of even smaller size then it is mentioned ?

Will EU become strong enough to overpower the USA?
(This one will be interesting to talk about)

Will EU be the first “civilization” that has atheistic majority without repression?

If we take a look at the big (global) picture, can we say that the idea of EU is cheating?

Also there are a lot of small topics?

The idea Europe could function as a single sovereignty is silly. We started not one but two world wars with each other for god's sake.

Competition between political sovereignties is important to preserve, because it protects liberty. The would-be despots who skulk in the chambers of power, whether in the US or EU need to be kept in-line. One way is with the niggling thought that their disgruntled subjects, and tax money, might up and leave. This is made more difficult as power is consolidated in more expansive central authority, whether that is in Washington or Bussells, and is something to be fought, not cheered.
A criticism that can be brought against everything ought not to be brought against anything.

Ideally, I would like the EU to turn into the first functional and lasting Confederation on a large scale. That would be the best outcome for them, I think.
    Go to sleep, iguana.

One continent (or world) government is a great idea. The more you can concentrate power in the hands of a few people, the better. Am I right?
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

Wrong. One world government shouldn't exist until well into the future, when technology has removed the need for borders (to explain this would require an essay I'm not willing to write), and if we're not socialist/communist then I'll throw a big fit. For now, please continue in your capitalist ways, Western World.

You know that's why the EU was formed, right? To make it too economically and politically difficult to make a third world war likely. Everything else was just gravy (or poison depending on your point of view). But in terms of what the EU was created for, it has been mostly a success. Except for the Balkans, but since when were they ever peaceful!
