He used to be a sports reporter. I don't watch much sportcenter, but he might be presenting the news in a sportscaster style.

I think I heard he has the most watched show on MSNBC (not saying much) so he must be doing something right.

By that logic, so is O'Reilly.

He's good at what he does. He basically owns the blue-collar WASP evening news market.

Okay, so we are talking about "right" in terms of effectivity, not "right" in terms of ethical good.

Right. But I could make the argument that they are doing ethical good: if they didn't sensationalize and yell and almost act comical, maybe less people would watch them and would be even less informed than they would be by watching them.

The fact he's doing something "right" is precisely why I despise him. I don't care about the crazy man on the street spouting off gibberish, but the guy watched on TV by millions is dangerous.

    Righteous indignation...
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

Ah, horseshit from both ends of the political specturm... yeah, that's what we need.

It's the state of the vast majority of media at the moment, to be perfectly honest. Including homemade net "journalism." I hate hokum!
