Default Same-sex Marriage, do you support it?

Again, just taking the pulse of the forum community here.
I looked out this morning and the sun was gone
Turned on some music to start my day
I lost myself in a familiar song
I closed my eyes and I slipped away

Maybe... depends on the true origin of marriage. If marriage is in fact a system created by the church, then Gay marriage should remain illegal and Gays should be able to receive their rights as a union from a different system. Even if Gay marriage was legalized, the church should have the right to decline the union of two gays. Or maybe we should redefine what marriage is.
EDIT: Nah, fuck the Church. I say we legalize it.

Yes and I don't even know why this is still a conversation.
I like to rock n' roll all night and *part* of every day. I usually have errands... I can only rock from like 1-3.

    This isn't rational.

People get married all the time that have no involvement with the church, or any religion. By this line of reasoning atheists or non-christans should be barred from marriage.

    Why?
I believe it is clearly stated by the Catholic Church that marriage is between a Man and a Woman, and says nothing regarding non-believers. I really don't care about what the church believes and in fact believe it all to be bullshit, but since we decided to use marriage, a religious ceremony, as a means of gaining certain rights, then we might as well follow what it says or just completely abolish the whole thing and replace it with something better. Maybe I am mistaken and Marriage isn't a religious thing anymore, and in that case why not legalize Gay marriage.

If we did follow what it's supposed to be, it would fragment out quite a large potion of the population that would be unable to marry under the church due to different beliefs (it's not just sex and gender exclusions).

Further, you're ignoring how culture evolves. Marriage used to be purely religious but became a tool to create legal precedent. A very very large potion of the population sees marriage as something completely separate from religion and it's former contexts all together. Just because something has a historical meaning doesn't mean it's relevant anymore.
