Default Islamist plot to blow up Eiffel Tower, Louvre and nuclear power plant foiled

France foiled an Islamist terrorist plot to target the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and even a nuclear power plant, it emerged on Wednesday, as the country unveiled new, tougher anti-terror rules.

French police stumbled on the plans after decrypting coded messages between a 29-year-old Algerian butcher living in the Vaucluse, southern France, known only as Ali M, and one of the highest-ranking members in al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, or AQIM.

According to Le Parisien newspaper, in April last year, the married father of two who went by the pseudonym Abu Jaji was asked by his AQIM contact, whose web alias was Redouane18, to make “suggestions concerning how to conduct jihad in the place you are currently”.

Quran 2:190 And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits. 2:191 And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.

I am waiting for the predictable headline that this is a product of "extremism" and not assimilating immigrants enough is the problem

It is a product of extremism, as most violent crime is. Assimilating criminals is a bad idea, unless they are being assimilated into prison.
I've been called a criminal, a terrorist, and a threat to the known universe. But everything you were told is a lie. The truth is, they've taken our freedom, our home, and our future. The time has come for all humanity to take a stand...

It is a result of Islam, I posted that quote deliberately to show this. As long as these people live in Western countries such attacks will always be a risk.

The only way to prevent it is to remove them and disassociate ourselves from the region in general.

The first part is true, the second a straw man.

Yes, we have 200 Australians in the Caliphate of the Islamic State of what used to be Syria and Iraq. They are committing war crimes and taking leading positions, and they are conducting propaganda warfare on social media to recruit more Australians.

The quote says fight if they fight you. As in if they go at war with your land you defend yourself. The context is entirely different to the story.

    You didn't make the connection.

Muslims see this verse as divine support for jihad against the West due to support of Israel and interference with politics in the Middle East. Jihad doesn't have to be a violent battle. A more subtle invasion can also be considered jihad, hence the Islamic invasion of Europe is an example of demographic jihad.

Also bear this in mind: The Asiatic Muslims have attacked European groups opportunistically, attacking and destroying the Byzantine Empire and Hispania, so it is imperialistic in nature just like its Abrahamaic cousins. You probably will say that Christian groups have done the same thing in the past. But the difference is that that was in the past. While very few people actually practice Christianity anymore, millions follow Islam.

What percentage of muslims see that? Muslims make up approximately 2 billion of the world's population estimated in 2014, which is basically a quarter of the world's population. So 1 in 4 people in this world would consider themselves muslims. So when a tiny handful of muslims use this verse as a support to do what they want killing innocents, the rest of them are just being disobedient? Non, they are seeing the verse differently and interpreting it differently. You'll always get people who will justify their anger or whatever they have with whatever they can get. These are what people call 'extremists'.
