And the most anti-American are Americans themselves. They provide a model for anti-Americanism throughout the world. Almost all anti-Americans are quoting Americans themselves.

It does a semi decent job of upholding a superficial pretense of the freedom to choose from the designated options.

(My country of origin: Italy) Barring any reference to being the birthplace of inventors etc. (which I don't think it's a virtue per se), I'd go for:

    - the landscape's variety (alps, wine hills, forests, beaches, etc.)
    - the sheer amount of cultural opportunities that almost every city has to offer
    - the active social life, especially during the summer
    - nice food
    - an easygoing attitude towards life (although this can be a negative trait in some cases)
    - a general eye for beauty in your surroundings

I'm mostly talking about my home region (Veneto), I've never lived anywhere else.

Idealism, sunshine and a lack of a truly cold climate. The rest is shite though.

(I already mentioned the negatives in the parallel thread, so here comes the positive - for the sake of balance)

Personally, I'd say it has a presentable intellectual and cultural history (as far as thinkers, scientists, inventors and artists go).
The landscape and climate are unspectacular, but that also makes it highly inhabitable.

The constitution is also pretty decent, was ahead of its time when it was written and has for the most part been adequately updated.
Today's aversion to political extremism makes for a very stable environment, compromise is king and there is little partisanship (which can also be a negative at times). We are surrounded by 9 neighboring countries and all of them are friends. We have become so disinterested in armed conflict that the UN is now urging us to please increase military spending and get more involved in military conflict.

All of this makes for comfortable and safe living in a free, pacific and prosperous society mainly unthreatened by man, nature or economic problems.

Oh, that and beer, pretzels and nice old castles, of course!!!

We've made living without a government and generally not caring what those idiots are up to into an art

Doesn't help that we re forced to vote - we get fined if we don't.

Our parties are awesome (although I hear Australians go hard too), we have beautiful beaches, amazing cities, etc.

It would be selfish to not at least be thankful of the services I can get here and the fact the health service has saved my life.

I suppose also the general characteristic in the smaller towns of people just....being happy with less is something I really appreciate.
