Freedom of speech, and cultural diversity (at least in Illinois, from what I've experienced so far)

The US rules with its massive military budget and tendency to meddle in international affairs.

Because it is the most powerful and influential country in the world.

Taking a concept to it's logical end is rarely logical or relevant to the subject at hand.

Default The Last Successful Cavalry Charge

We made the last successful calvary charge in history at Beersheba outside of Damascus, against seasoned Turkish troops, commanded by crack German officers, dug in defensively with artillery, machine guns, and even a light plane dropping bombs.

The Australian Light Horse had been treking across the desert for days and had run out of water. And the only water was at Beersheba.

The order was given and the great war horses started a slow trot towards Beersheba, all was silent except for the clinking of harness.

The German officers expected us to approach Beersheba, dismount and engage them with small arms fire, so they trained their artillery where small arms would come into range. But instead of stopping the order was given, "Charge for the guns!".

The great horses leapt into action, galloping as one towards the guns. And a horse is only truly a horse when galloping as one with the herd.

They galloped through shell and shot until the cry went up, "They are under the guns", and nothing could stop them then, and we took Beersheba at full gallop with cold steel.

And we went on to Damascus to take the surrender of the Ottoman Empire.
