Default Should women be allowed to be topless in public?

I came across this article and I wondered what everyone thought. Is it in your country? Do you think it should be?

I think they should be, of course I think women should still be able to wear bras if they want to too. I think the main obstacle would be removing the "inappropriate" stigma on breasts, but hopefully that gets resolved through time.

Honestly, I'd say go nude if want to (if it wasn't illegal).

There's a generic crime called 'obscene act' that might apply, but the ones who know don't care, and the ones who care don't know.
Do you think it should be?
    Nah.

I think it should be allowed. There's a lot of weirdness about breasts that I don't understand. Why is it just nipples we're afraid of? Why do we keep so much mystery and shame attached? I can tell you that as a young girl, I would have felt a lot more comfortable with developing breasts of my own if I had seen them around more. Mothers should be able to feed their babies without having to leave the scene because their breasts are involved. It's good for humans to grow up normalized and comfortable with human bodies.

Since I live in America, I'll speak on behalf of all Kyuuei's living in the US.

Americans are total prudes that suck at life when it comes to things. They'll watch porn on HBO disguised as a 'good show' (they are good shows though...) and see Beyoncee shaking her ass no problem, but the minute a nipple is shown it's suddenly all gross and icky? We're stuck in third grade cooties world somehow.. Like we can't grow up.

In Uganda women walk around shirtless because it's a necessity--they dont have clothes really out in the middle of no where. Women breast feed anywhere they want--it's not even thought of twice there. I don't understand how a developing country with so many issues can have such wisdom in something so simple.

I say no nipples or all nipples. And I like seeing dudes shirtless, so I'm okay with girls being shirtless. If you can show 98% of your body, why is 99% such a bad thing suddenly? Is there REALLY any limitations on the imagination after that 98%? You can show everything but genitals and nipples.. All the boobs themselves, and the ass, can all be seen. Everything. Except those two teeny, tiny spots. It's really the most illogical thing I've ever heard of. (I'm still a prude that grew up prude.. I'm not going walking around naked anytime soon. But I don't think people ought to think anything of it if a girl walks around shirtless. I find it refreshing when I see it in Austin.)

yeah i agree...just normal places that it would be normal for a dude to go topless but i personally still wouldn't go running topless because ouch.

but definitely a nursing mom should feel comfortable and while swimming in stuff, why not?

I agree. I don't think women should have their boobies out at the office or anything, but for the beach or nursing, or when changing or after a shower, I feel like they should be fine.

What really gets me is a blurred out nipple on tv. Wtf.

Purely because I think men and women should have equal rights, yes, I believe women should go around topless.

And then I'll be shopping for mirrored sunglasses. UV rays are very harmful, you know.

I don't see a problem nursing or at the beach, but disagree with being topless generally.

Most women are going to find it uncomfortable walking around without support anyway, and besides I hear a guy looking at breasts is "creepy". Bear in mind that this will happen 1000x more often if breasts are fully exposed.

Of the thousands of problems America has surely there is something more important to take up as an activist. But I forget how retarded some people are...
