And out in the real world, the numbers are supposedly 1 in 6 women.

Apparently, we're effectively safer in prison. And men are a little more at risk in prison than us here in the real world.

    How about that.

you are comparing the numbers from reported rape (the lowest estimate) with the numbers from surveyed rape (highest estimate).

we don't have a surveyed-rape (highest estimate) for inmates, but it would be a big stretch to argue that a men is more likely to report being raped then a women, so they are likely to at least maintain a similar proportion if not increase it.

if the numbers are true, then "In 2008, it was estimated 216,000 inmates were sexually assaulted while serving time, according to the Department of Justice figures. That is compared to 90,479 rape cases outside of prison".

(i didn't verify the 2008 number, but the percentage is consistent with the 2011 and 2012 reports:

they also actually took some very disturbing surveys from juvie. also a worthy note for the debate - it suggests forced sex among females in prision is less likely to be taken seriously or counted as rape. essentially you might be safer from penetration but not from forced sex overall)

wanted to share this slightly on topic video

it's censored tho due to some topless girls and swear words.

it's about a role reversal between men and women...interesting...and quite sad i thought.

That would only happen if we collectively allowed it to, simply for physical reasons...

This is why removing group association from consciousness has been done, at least to white men - if you only see yourself as an individual you are practically unable to affect (or prevent) societal change.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that video was supposed to be taken literally.

I didn't, I took it as dystopian vision of what society could be like.

All the women would be depressed as hell anyway, so it wouldn't last.
