That still doesn't lessen the problems over there. And I believe that basic human rights are worth fighting for.

    You're right, you're right.

    Dear Mr. Sean Penn,

Thanks for reading my letter. I loved you in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I was thinking that Saudi Arabia was a backwards and twisted region of the world. There needs to be some sort of democracy, or at least a more humane law system. So if you can go ahead and do that, that would be like, so cool. I believe in you and know you will make Saudi Arabia a democracy. The letter to your congressman and/or celebrity is truly mightier than the sword.

Here in Belgium we have more and more muslims, mainly immigrants from Morocco, who tend to play victim and ask we fight for their rights as a "minority"(theyre becoming less and less of a minority here though). Yet theyre willing to stone pagans, witches, christians, atheists, homosexuals etc.

I would like to say that while there are some moderate muslims out there(Muslim does equal Islamist), more and more of them who were moderate are now turning to wearing scarves in public, practicing Sharia law and believing non believers in their religion should be stoned to death. You have no idea how many scarved women there are in Brussels, I cant go out of my home and walk down the street without encountering them.

Am I in Brussels or in Marakkesh?
This is your quite near future as any reading of demographics will tell you.

I care. And we now live in a global village where jihad has gone global.

A good example is Australia, a long way physically from the Middle East, yet we have about 200 Islamic Australians fighting in jihadi terrorist groups in Syria, and rising to positions of command.

Boko Haram, is an Islamist movement in Nigeria which controls about half of Nigeria. Boko Haram have strong and enduring links with international Islamists such as Al Qaeda. And the stated aim of Boko Haram is to make the whole of Nigeria an Islamic State ruled by Sharia.

And in line with Sharia, Boko Haram have captured more than 200 school girls who they are selling as sex slaves.

Meanwhile, 57 Islamic countries, all members of the United Nations, have publicly and openly rejected the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in favour of Sharia.

And not content with this, these same 57 Islamic countries, called the Organisation of Islamic Co-operaton, OIC, have succeeded in passing a non-binding resolution in the United Nations General Assembly making it a crime to criticise Islam.

This bothers me somehow it sounds like a blasphemy law to me.

You don't need to travel to the Middle East to find Blasphemy laws. They are already in place in Ireland.

The lacuna was filled in 2009 by a new offence of "publication or utterance of blasphemous matter".

The global left has more or less abandoned principled support for free speech (and individual rights in general) as an acceptable casualty in the pursuit of 'social justice'.....it happened in Europe and Canada first, but its increasingly happening here, as well.

I suspect, had this occurred a year ago, you would have found MUCH more outrage on this site over the fact that Britain had not yet legalized gay marriage than with this gross violation of free speech and free conscience.

Yes, the Left have made an historic alliance with Islam and the Left are now against free speech.

This is odd as the Left have traditionally been in favour of free speech.

And the alliance is equally odd as the Left are atheist while Islam is theist.

But both the Left and Islam are totalitarian and so see liberal democracy as the common enemy.

So yes, we are the hated other.

Yes, it is a non binding blasphemy law passed on the floor of the General Assembly of the United Nations under the auspices of the OIC.
