Hmmm....government is the enemy...then that would mean your children can't go to public school, you can't drive on public roads, you can't eat food that was screened by FDA inspectors, you can't drink water that is monitored for toxins by the EPA, you can't breathe air that is regulated by the EPA.

Now I know our government is far from perfect (and even breaks international law) and I am VERY concerned about the corporations and lobbyists that really run D.C., but I just can't wrap my head around government being THE ENEMY. I guess my journey is just beginning

I guess I would prefer a less radical path instead of devolving into an unhealthy paranoia (yet).

Usually we don't consider the mugging victim the bad one.

It is usually the mugger that we consider bad.

Ohhhh, paying taxes for things like schools and roads and military infrastructure like @statuesquechica mentioned is us actually getting mugged. I didn't realize.

What's the standard issue firearm for the IRS these days?

I would urge you to look up "The Trail of Tears" and also FDR's internment of over 100,000 Japanese Americans without trial.

Bit of Trivia from Coulter's book: Senator Warren's great great great grandfather was involved in "The Trail of Tears" as an enforcer.
Senator Rand Paul is alive because of modern medicine and because his attacker punches like a girl.

Public school education isn't worth a warm bucket of spit.

you can't drive on public roads,
I'd be just fine with that. Private roads are cool with me.

you can't eat food that was screened by FDA inspectors,
There are not now, nor have their ever been FDA food inspectors

you can't drink water that is monitored for toxins by the EPA,
A function that is actually performed by local govs. and should be performed by private water cos.

you can't breathe air that is regulated by the EPA.
This one is really too funny to respond to, but I'll quote it anyway.

Either you live by a moral code, or you do not.

Either you reject the idea of initiating force against an otherwise peaceful person, or you do not.

Either you believe that theft is immoral, or you do not.

If you believe that it is wrong to initiate force, or to steal from people.. then you believe that it is wrong to operate a government (as government MUST by definition do these things)

I guess I would prefer a less radical path instead of devolving into an unhealthy paranoia (yet).
What you call "unhealthy paranoia" (because it helps you dismiss what I'm telling you) I call "willingness to honestly evaluate the situation.

Either you have a moral code, or you do not.

In the last year, the IRS bought 500 short barrel shotguns, 10,000,000 shotgun rounds, and 100,000,000 rounds of .40 smith

Good point. Maybe I should join a country that doesn't pay taxes. Which ones are they again?
