    Non sequitur.

Do you honestly believe that death is the appropriate punishment for theft?

How so? Should someone not have the right to defend themselves and their business from crime?

    Armed theft.... Yes I do.

Then you embrace the insanity. Stupid of me to expect more than black and white from you.

Had the shooter not pulled his gun, the only thing lost would have been money, probably insured. Now someone's father, brother, son, friend is dead.

Sorry, I don't get all bent out of shape about the rights of armed criminals. Enjoy your bleeding heart.

Using labels such as 'criminal', 'bad guy', 'hoodlum', 'gangster', you don't even have to think before you pass judgment. The world can be so blissfully simple!

Have you ever done anything illegal?

We can see it with those who purvey gun pornography.

For those who purvey gun pornography show us pretty guns but do not show us school children with gunshot wounds to the head, gunshot wounds to the torso, or gunshot wounds destroying arms and legs.

Those who purvey gun pornography show us pretty guns but religiously don't show us the shocked and horrified parents of their children gunned down and mutilated at school. The gun pornographers don't show us the aunts and uncles of the children blown apart by guns at school. The gun pornographers don't show us the traumatised brothers and sisters of the children fired upon at school. The gun pornographers don't show us whole communities driven to paranoia by children being mass murdered at school by guns.

    So gun pornography is pornography.

Gun pornography is an indecent lie.
I think what @OrderOfTheCaelifera is saying is that the imaginations of men are consumed with evil. Wanton crime would occur without the media inspiring it through guns in media. As our imagination for evil is unlimited, people will commit atrocities against each other regardless of the availability of guns as we see in South Africa. Guns help us innocent people protect themselves against such things, and taking them away from innocent people hurts those that it would be desirable to protect.

I agree that it would be beneficial to society if Hollywood did not inspirit wanton violence and other immoralities. However, legislation censuring/regulating guns in media would limit free speech/be oppressive without limiting mankind's imagination for wickedness.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, and since we banned guns in Australia, we have had not one gun massacre.

Yes, as an armed Commonwealth Officer I was approached by an excited young man with a gun with intent to take the money I was carrying. I had a clear shot as he approached and retreated but instead I gave him the money. And today both of us are alive. We can replace the money, but we can't replace a life.

    I see it!

I'm also on the fence about it. I agree with Ice-Ts statement, "I'll give up my guns when they give up their guns" but also, it seems that the brandishing of another gun often leads to people getting shot on both sides, good guys and bad (shocking).

Even a granny rambo video earlier, a woman that was mugged at gunpoint happened to be at her car with her legally obtained .45 caliber weapon. The muggers said "Don't pull it," she didn't, but they shot her anyway, nothing fatal (easily could have been), so she grabbed her .45 and shot back, chased off bad guys. The interviewer asks whether her having the gun caused her to get shot, she says "No" but it's a very subjective response.

On the OTHER hand, if there's muggers running around with guns in your neighborhood (the same lady had already been pistol whipped years earlier) I do think it's your right to get yourself a gun to protect yourself, but it's at your own risk, and possibly the risk of others.

And yes, if someone points a gun in your face, that's open season to shoot them, IMO.
I've had this ice cream bar, since I was a child!

    Each thought's completely warped
I'm like a walkin', talkin', ouija board.
