Strange as it may seem, I think anger is a positive emotion, for when we are angry we reach out, we may reach out with a fist, but we do reach out, whereas indifference is the killer.

Yes, I agree. It's justice through theft. Two wrongs don't make a right. Taxation is inherently bad. We should accept that, do it anyway, but realize that we are actively repressing our population.

Huh? I figured from what I've seen elsewhere that you would be a libertarian, and maybe an anarchist.

Just think, America controls, owns and prints the Reserve Currency of the World. And for the privilege of using the USA Dollar as the Reserve Currency for trade, we pay the USA one hundred thousand million dollars per year every year.

    This is taxation without representation.

    Is that true?

If it is true, I agree with you that it's more oppressive than typical taxation. But this does not mean that the local oppressor thereby become good.

C'mon you have a paranoid view of your government, whereas by contrast, we have compulsory voting so our Parliament represents our interests.

See I think taxes are necessary for infrastructure and social services and such, but it would be better if the whole system was different and we didn't need them. Or maybe just tax businesses beyond a certain income bracket. That would provide a lot of revenue. And tax churches whose inflow of money exceeds outflow in charitable works.

Ultimately I think we should decentralize power and form voluntary associations to live cooperatively. Unfortunately that won't happen on a large scale for a long time, but we can at least for now form small communities which achieve some form of independence.

But what was the debate about? The thread seems to have degenerated and been derailed.

I support gun control, but not because it's a just thing.
