    Default Retrieving the British Empire

A new medium retrieves old mediums, for instance, books retrieved the manuscript and the movies retrieved the theatre.

Well, we are retrieving the old social medium of knighthoods. Yes, every year we will honour four individuals with a knighthood.

This may well seem anachronisitic or even retro, when it is in fact the electronic medium retrieving the British Empire.

New mediums are in fact retrievers.

Don't bother calling the US for assistance this time because many of us regret that our ancestors bailed the Empire out during WW1 & WW2.

Take care of your own damn problems when they rise up to bite you in the ass within the next 3 years.

Not one damn response prior to mine, gawddd this thread was a waste of space here.
There is no need to be upset.

The electronic work of retrieval continues with the visit of Prince William, Princess Kate the new baby George.

We are remembering why we loved the British Empire. We loved it so much we couldn't leave when it ended and so we formed the Commonwealth of Nations consisting of 53 member States.

I'm serious about expecting WW3 & it makes perfect sense if you consider that China has been building up for war. As a result Putin is grabbing everything he can to form a buffer around his homeland. I know a little something regarding war, I don't consider that Putin is motivated by greed or tyranny but rather a preemptive defensive move to protect the homeland & the nearby resources of which it's dependent upon.
Guarantee you that China moves on both island chains leading up to Taiwan & then starts WW3 by involving Japan, US, N.Korea & S Korea by way of invading Taiwan.
Expect Turkey & India might pair up to avoid the squeeze between Russia (New Soviet Union) & the Middle East.

Just a hunch by the way the world is quickly falling apart & the preparation the players are making.
Turkey is in NATO, and India would probably stay out of it, or side with whoever is fighting China.

This thread is about the effects of different media.

The principle is that our present media retrieve the media of the past. Or in other words, the content of our present media is the media of the past.

For instance, the book retrieved the media of the manuscript, and the movies retrieve the media of the theatre.

And the internet is retrieving the media of the British Empire. Everything old is new again.

And to understand how the media interact over time, you might be interested to read, Understanding Media, by Marshal McLuhan at http://beforebefore.net/80f/s11/media/mcluhan.pdf

And don't forget, Marshall McLuhan is the patron saint of the internet.
