But you are against something associated with liberals...you are against the environmental movement aren't you?

This statement is predicated on the idea that all organizations use the same tactics and work toward their goal with the same zeal. That is simply not true.

Calling environmentalism a religion is done by people simply wanting to marginalize environmentalism using semantics, which is obvious.
Why do you believe that calling something a 'religion' is marginalizing?

List some of these tactics, and I'll tell you how almost every major political and social group uses these same tactics.

I am not sure if Lateralus meant to do that, but I would like to maintain that I would only call the radical fringe of environmentalism (as I stated before: ecoterrorists, Earth-worshipers, anti-modernists, etc.) to be "religious" in their beliefs. Concern about global warming, air pollution, clean water, etc. is completely reasonable, and (usually) based on scientific inquiry.

Of course not. That's what you and Zergling can't comprehend.

Because it's liberal and environmental types that are always complaining about religion, so try to say they themselves are a religion with environmentalism paints them as hypocritical...maybe even superstitious depending how you look at it.

We both know this I would presume, but you might not want to admit it here.

I have a pretty neutral opinion of religion, so I don't see it this way.

I started this thread because I've recently seen some environmentalists, who typically claim to be objective and logical, acting irrational and illogical. The episodes I witnessed instantly reminded me of scenes I've witnessed with Christians. Also, the current environmentalist stance that having children is 'wrong' (bad for the Earth, too much carbon, etc) is a direct converse of the directive for the Abrahamic religions, "Be fruitful and multiply". The parallels are striking.

    You're being very presumptuous.
