The absolute icing on the cake is that Wendy Davis's vacant state senate seat was taken by a pro-life woman.

You're right there probably was voter fraud involved.

We should get more voter ID laws to stop those cheating republicans.

Dems will get behind that, right?
I was right on what? I only stated that there is this possibility, not that i think thats what is going on.

If you had watched the video even for a moment, you would know that whether or not you have ID means nothing when it comes to getting false results.

Wow, lol... insult to injury. She must be beating her head on the wall now.

Heh, adding insult to injury is something with which Wendy is very familiar in a very literal sense.

Yeah, considering all the hooplah over the last few years, that probably threw a lot of people into a tizzy.

Needless to say, my FaceBook page has been echoing with the gnashing of teeth and the wailing of the damned over the last 15 hours or so. I've never been more glad not to be posting much on FB. (Me, I did my job: I showed up and voted for the races I had educated myself on, didn't vote on the things I didn't know anything about, and now am moving on with my life until the next election.)

I was really shocked at how DEAD the voting place was, though. I left work early to make sure I didn't have to wait in line, hit the polls a little after 4pm, and just walked right in and right back out. At least in presidential years in larger cities, I've had to wait anywhere from 15-45 minutes to get to a voting booth and not even during peak hours.

    That was surprising.

What's important isn't just that Republicans won, but how they won and with which voters they won.

Abbott making positive gains with Latinos is very notable. He even won with Latino men.
It's Official: Democrats Have Lost the Future in Texas (for Now) - Bloomberg Politics

Obviously yelling KOCH KOCH KOCH and WAR ON WOMEN didn't serve Dems yet this morning they all still want to blame it on money. Which is silly given that Republicans are projected to have only spent less than 10% more then Dems and in races like Va governor Republicans underspent and still did well even if they didn't win.

Btw, I'm still waiting for the Slaughter Assinni house race which is going to absentee ballots. Assinni barely spent anything (i presume from not seeing much advertising compared to others and knowing he relied on door knocking) and Slaughter is a 14 term incumbent.

The major thing(s) I am happy about (assuming measure 92, the GMO label proposal goes no which it appears it might squeak by with) is that every measure and candidate I voted for in my state (Oregon) went the way I voted. At least that makes me happy.

Many Democrats failed because they tried to act like conservatives. Republican voters are never going to vote for a Democrat acting like a conservative, and acting like a conservative turns off voters who want an actual progressive (as opposed to a typical Democratic corporatist).
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

    Which is why I'm pessimistic.

I'm glad the Republicans won the overall Senate, but I can't get too excited when I plain and simply loathe the party leadership at this point-like I said months earlier, they share the same enemies as the Democrats, and now they are emboldened.
