A pennsylvania couple has been sent to prison for 3.5-7 years for 3rd degree murder in the death of their 8 month old child whom had pneumonia, and refused to seek medical treatment to treat it. Instead, opting to use "faith healing". They were under a 10 year probation when this occurred, in which they were required to seek medical attention if any of their children became sick. In 2009 they had lost another child of theirs, a 2 year old who had pneumonia, which resulted in the probation sentence.
They have 7 surviving children.
To quote the article: "Last year, Herbert Schaible told police that medicine "is against our religious beliefs." He said, "We believe in divine healing, that Jesus shed blood for our healing and that he died on the cross to break the devil's power.""
