In fact there was a violent bourgeois revolution against lawful authority.

The lawful authority was personified in the King. And so the American revolution symbolically killed the King. This is symbolic patricide for which Americans feel the guilt of the child who kills the father.

The violent bourgeois revolution was highly successful so Americans have been able to deny the guilt they feel for killing the father.

And in denying the guilt, there is no forgiveness, so Americans are constantly afraid they will be punished for killing the father.

And it is this fear of punishment for patricide that drives American paranoia.
We felt we were being treated unfairly and said fuck this. At this point it doesn't matter why.

They couldn't stop us and here we are today. Why not worry about your own house and leave us to ours.

Do listen to your Meryl Streep. She is making a movie on this very topic.

You say an awful lot for someone who lives in an irrelevant, isolated country. I liked The Deer Hunter too.

Too late. We have three treaties with you. A military treaty, an economic treaty, and we even have a land treaty with you.

Our officers are seconded to the Pentagon and sometimes to the White House.

We are part of you Intelligence network, and your Marines have set up a base here. So you will be hearing from us, daily, hourly, even by the minute in real time.

But worse, this is an international site devoted to civil free speech.

Isolationism is no longer an option for you.

And you are the (vastly) weaker partner.

So we are going to keep doing what we want regardless of how you or anyone else but the US electorate feels about it.

Oh please, I live in the Capital of Continent.

Our economy has been growing non stop for 24 years. We have never had to bail out our banks and our financial institutions.

We are the sixth oldest democracy which, quite unlike you, has a Government and a Loyal Opposition.

We are the heirs of the Scottish and English Enlightenment.

And interestingly our manners and mores were shaped by 100 years of the peace from the British Aristocratic Ascendancy.

We helped write the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

We have founded and are part of many vital international bodies.

We have a seat on the United Nations Security Council.

So naturally we have a lot to say.
