It's a cultural quiz. There are certain cultural stances that have a tendency to correlate with particular political stances.

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

    26% conservative, 74% liberal.

    A) Yes, I prefer dogs over cats. I'm allergic to cats.
    B) Why does it matter if I like action movies over documentaries? They're both fantasies.
    C) Yes, I do like fusion cuisine; isn't spaghetti a mix of Italian and Chinese food?
    D) I dunno if the world benefits from nations and borders, but I know I do. Privacy is very important and I don't like others touching my things.

    This was dumb.

I prefer the Museum of Natural History to Times Square a thousand times over, but I couldn't care less about looking at art, especially modern art.
My mom uses Chrome (because I installed it) and she's an evangelical.
The fact that I'm a super-taster has nothing to do with my political philosophy.

"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."
